Mt. Vernon Education Foundation's 2021 Black and Gold Gala

We asked. You answered. We all want more for our students. We all want to provide our students additional access to the arts, STEM, music, technology, and library materials, vocational and educational experiences that provide real-world relevance. That’s exactly why The Mt. Vernon Education Foundation exists.

 

As a stakeholder of the Mt. Vernon Community School Corporation, you belong to a community that prides itself on having a strong public school system. The Mt. Vernon School Schools are consistently named as a primary reason that families move to the area. Keeping our school district strong keeps our entire community strong, thus Great Schools = Great Communities.

 

The Mt. Vernon Education Foundation helps to close the gap between the tax dollars available and the funds needed to preserve the comprehensive education that our community values and expects for our next generation.

    In 2018, Jill Prefontaine and her husband, Kevin, established this award in honor of her brother, Ryan. Annually, two $2500 awards are given to the Teacher of the Year and Staff Member of the Year. Jill wanted to create this honor to “combine the love that she has for her brother and great teachers.” Jill’s father, Kenneth, was a treasured math teacher for Mt. Vernon Schools for 30 years
